Hiện trạng: resident

Mô tả: 28cm. Phía lưng có màu nâu sẫm và hầu hết phần dưới cơ thể màu xám bạc, không có vằn. Giò màu đỏ son. Phần dưới cơ thể ít màu xám. Sống ở các vùng đầm lầy, thường ở vùng đồi núi. Hoạt động vào lúc hoàng hôn. Làm tổ ở nơi có cỏ hoặc sậy mọc dày.

Phân bố: Vùng Đông Bắc, đồng bằng sông Hồng. Phân bố đến độ cao khoảng 800 mét.

Hiện trạng: Loài định cư. Hiếm gặp.

Sinh cảnh sống: Vùng đầm lầy nước ngọt có cây cỏ. Làm tổ từ tháng 3-10, đẻ 5-6 trứng.
